At the beginning of my second year in Esac we were able to work with Federic Tacer, a graphic designer based in Paris. For the fist half of workshop we focused on illustrating Flatland, a literature work by Edwin Abbott Abbott. The book use mathematical dimensional metaphor to denounce social class and hierarchy, inequality of sex race and class as well as the ignorance of the idle minds. 6 posters were made to illustrate 6 chapters of this graphical universe.

Starting from the production of the fist part, the second part I chose to bring «4th dimension» to the posters. With the help of Processing code I could animate the posters and was also able to give it an interactive aspect.

For the presentation of the interactive posters, all of them were put in the same presentation file. The screen is then split in 5 or 4... or one full screen of one poster. the posters are distributed randomly on the screen every time the user press any button. The mouse interaction functions at the same time for all of the poster displayed on the screen. This can be a very interesting way to invite viewers to come read the book.
